#myyearoff Balsamiq

At the beginning of my internship, I spent a fair amount of my days creating, reviewing and revising mockups/wireframes. The first tool that I was exposed to was Balsamiq mockups. After using it to create wireframes for a few of the projects I helped develop, it was an instant favorite. Balsamiq was easy to learn how to use and they also have great resources to help you learn the tool further or create a mockup with inspiration.

While teaching at Howard University Middle School, I already knew the wireframing tool I would use to teach the students how to create a prototype for their Verizon App Challenge Deliverables. The good people at Balsamiq were quick to help support my students by giving them all free education accounts. They were even nice enough to send over some Balsamiq merchandise for the students to enjoy! Each of the students were eager to use the tool in and out of the classroom for their groups. After the completion of the course, the students had a better understanding of the importance of creating good wireframes to use for development.
